In this guide, we’ll walk through the process to set up MultiFactor Authentication through the application for your Office 365 account.

  1. MultiFactor Authentication has been enabled for your Energy Acuity Office 365 account. To set it up, we’ll need to log into the Office 365 web portal.
  2. Open a web browser and go to https://office.com. You’ll see a login prompt:
  3. Your username will be your Energy Acuity email address.
  4. After entering your username and password, you’ll see a prompt requesting more information:
  5. Click Next to proceed.

  7. Install and open the app on your mobile device:
  8. Tap the “Skip” button in the bottom left to exit the tutorial:
  9. On your PC, you’ll see a webpage titled “Additional security verification.”
  10. Open the dropdown menu under step 1 and select “Mobile App:”
  11. Select the “Receive notifications for verification” button
  12. Click “Set up:”
  13. A popup displaying a QR code will load.
  14. In the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, tap “Add Account:”
  15. Tap “Work or School account:”
  16. If the app requests camera permissions, grant them.
  17. The camera will open. Use it to scan the QR code on your computer screen.
  18. Click “Next” on your computer screen:
  19. You’ll receive a notification on your mobile device. Tap. “Approve:”
  20. Set up your recovery method. – On your computer screen, select your country in the dropdown menu underneath “Step 3: In case you lose access to the mobile app:”
  21. Enter a phone number where you can be reached:
  22. Click “Next” to proceed.
  23. Select “Text me:”
  24. Enter the code in the text message and click “Verify:”
  25. Click “Finish” to complete 2-Factor Authentication setup.
  26. On “Step 4: Keep using your existing applications,” click “Done:”
  27. We can configure app passwords as needed after finishing setup.

You’ve successfully set up MultiFactor Authentication for your Energy Acuity Office 365 account. Take a few extra minutes to test signing into your Energy Acuity email account on your computer, phone, and any other devices where it’s been set up. You may receive one or more sign-in notifications – approve them to sign into your account.
